Born on March 25th in Moscow. People's Artist of
the USSR

In his young years was a
carpenter, a loader, a sportsman.
While being a student of
Gnesin Musical-Pedagogical Seminary (class of K.A. Malkova), Raykov started
appearing as a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater (1961).
Among his roles: Bayan,
Duke, Vladimir Igorevich, Lensky, the Indian Guest, Sobinin, Pinkerton,
Radames, Faust, Mihailo Tucha, Pierre Bezukhov, Shuysky, Raimond.
In 1966 he went to train in
La-Scala.
In 1970 he was the laureate
of the 4-th International Competition of Young Singers in Sofia.
Toured abroad, featured in
the motion pictures "King's bride" (1964) and "In the Pacific Ocean..." (1973).
From 1990 was the director
of the operatic department of the Bolshoi Theater.
Died on June 2010.
