Dramatic tenor. Was born on July 6th in Kaunas, Lithuania.
People’s Artist of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist
Republic (1975)
In 1950 graduated from Vilnius conservatory (class of K.Petrauskas).
From 1942 – a chorist, in 1949-50 and 1954-76 –
soloist of the Lithuanian Theater of Opera and Ballet, in 1950-54 – soloist of
the Saint-Petersburg Kirov Opera Theater.
Sang in more than 60 roles, among which were:
German, Sobinin, Imposter-king, Dubrovskiy, Othello, Radames, Alfred, Richard,
Rodolfo, Lohengrin.
The concert repertoire of Adamkavichus included
more than 500 compositions.
Toured the USSR and abroad.
In 1956-76 taught in Vilnius conservatory.
Died on 3rd of May 1976 in Vilnius.
