Vasiliy
Kozeratskiy (1905)
Born on 31st
of December in the village of Gruzko, Odessa
region. Dramatic tenor. People's artist of the Ukrainian
Soviet Socialist Republic (1957).
In 1931 graduated from Beethoven Odessa Musical-Theatrical Institute. From the same year
started appearing in Kharkov Operetta Theater and then other operetta theaters
of Ukraine,
including Kiev Operetta Theater.
Performed
in about 60 roles in operetta.
In 1951-59
- soloist of the Kiev Opera Theater.
Among his
roles: Lensky, German, Rhadames, Canio, Cavardossi, Jose, Pierre Bezuhoff, Richard,
Vakula, Lykov (“Tzar’s Bride”), Vasiliy ("Milana"), Toropka (“Askoldova
mogila”), Sobinin, The Imposter Prince, Andriy (“Taras Bulba”), Bogun (“Bogdan
Hmelnitzkiy”)
Was a
member of the Communist party from 1940.
Starting
from 1960 was a teacher in the Music Studio of the Kiev Operetta Theater, from
1963 -
in the
I.K.Karpenko-Kariy Theatrical Institute, from 1965 – Kiev conservatory.
